The Comfie Cat

A TEMPORARY ‘PAWS’
on surrenders
We do not take walk-in surrenders.

A Temporary "Paws"
Why This Matters — And What We Need to Do

At the Comfie Cat Shelter, we value transparency and want to keep you informed about the challenges we’re currently facing. This spring, we’ve seen a significant drop in volunteer support across all areas, forcing our small core team to wear many hats in order to keep things running. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, this has unfortunately meant that many critical tasks, beyond the direct daily care of our cats, have had to be paused. It's now crucial that we refocus our efforts and catch up.

At the same time, we’ve experienced a surge in surrender applications and an influx of kittens. For the well-being of the cats already in our care, we are temporarily unable to accept any additional surrenders. Our priority must be to provide the best possible care for our current residents until they find their furever homes.

Due to limited space and resources, we are at full capacity and will be focusing on the care and adoption of our current shelter cats.

What’s Continuing (with Some Changes):
-
Adoptions: We are still accepting and reviewing adoption applications. Meet-and-greets are scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
-
PetSmart Partnership: This partnership remains unchanged.
-
Surrenders: No new surrenders will be accepted until further notice.
-
Visits: Appointment booked for approved applications.
-
Events: All events and fundraising activities will continue as planned.

If you find a stray or need to rehome a cat, please explore other rescue organizations, check social media groups, or use Google to find alternatives.

We truly appreciate the community’s patience, compassion, and ongoing support as we navigate these difficult times. Your kindness keeps us going—and helps us give our cats the love and care they deserve.

Thank you.
